THE MAPLE STREET CHAPEL

Recent Maintenance & Improvements

1. Thanks to a grant from the Village of Lombard, the south side of the steeple is now lighted at night.

2. We have received a generous grant from the DuPage Community Foundation.  This has enabled us to make several improvements in the Reade Room.

    Carpentry repairs done to the
    north wall and main spire.
    Exterior of chapel repainted.

9. Operator to open Reade Room Door
 (final step in providing ADA-compliant
   handicapped accessibility)

10. Reade Room Southwest Corner
    A new door was installed.
    The triangular soffit was removed, and the
    walls and ceiling were finished in matching
    beaded board, and the trim was duplicated.
    The door color was darkened and the door
     jamb to match the paneling.
    A nice frame was built around the outside
    of the door.

1. Replace porch roof over the southwest entrance (to be done using the grant from the DuPage Community Foundation).

2. Critical maintenance to the main steeple

3. Continued improvements to the southeast corner of the Reade Room

4. Permanent wiring of spotlights (currently powered by extension
 cords)
